Dear UVM Community,

We had a productive and engaging conversation about the future of the University of Vermont this morning during our first meeting of the Presidential Search Advisory Committee. Together we outlined a process for identifying our next president, starting with solicitation of input from the UVM community—input that will be used in the development of a presidential leadership profile. The leadership profile will be used to inform our search and attract outstanding candidates to the opportunity to lead UVM forward with ambition, integrity and purpose.

Our search committee discussion today focused on the criticality of hearing from all corners of our UVM community. We want your insights about the challenges and opportunities ahead for UVM and the qualities we should seek in our 28th president. As a first step, we invite you to use the form available at www.uvm.edu/presidentialsearch to provide your input to us and our collaborators in the search at Isaacson, Miller. We value your input and will accept comments throughout the search. Comments received by Friday, October 18 will be especially helpful in the development of the presidential leadership profile.

Many thanks for your engagement and support of this critical opportunity for UVM.
