1. What is your favorite thing about working for the Food Systems Research Center?
I feel aligned with the mission of the Food Systems Research Center. Our planet and people face many challenges due to climate change and ensuring the sustainability of our food systems is one of them. I am glad to be one small part of this important work.
2. What is your favorite thing about living and working in Vermont?
Vermont has a strong sense of community like I haven’t felt anywhere else. People here are friendly. They want to help one another. They care about their communities. They make good ice cream.
3. What is something about you people would be surprised to learn?
I wake up very early to garden in the summer. I am not a morning person by nature, but I love getting up at the break of dawn to tend to my plants and (hopefully) bring home a handful of vegetables. I often get home before my husband has even gotten out of bed.
4. What TV show, band/artist, podcast, video game, book, and/or anything are you most obsessed with right now?
Currently, I'm reading "The Three Body Problem" by Liu Cixin. I purchased this book in 2016, but initially I just could not get into it. After some friends encouraged me to give it another try, I'm now thoroughly enjoying it. It just shows how books have to connect with you at the right time.
