Dr. Anne Stowman is a practicing academic dermatopathologist and the Director of Dermatopathology at the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC). She is also the Network Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology for UVM Health Network, overseeing the anatomic pathology laboratories and faculty in Vermont and New York.
Dr. Stowman obtained her medical degree at the University of Minnesota and completed her residency at the University of Virginia (UVA) in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. She did her Fellowship in Dermatopathology, also at UVA. Following fellowship, she worked in private practice at a dermatopathology lab in Charlottesville, before joining the faculty at UVMMC and the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont in 2017.
Dr. Stowman spends a significant amount of time teaching residents of the pathology and dermatology programs at UVM as well as instructs courses in the medical school. The dermatopathology division at UVM is a high-volume practice servicing multiple private practice dermatology groups, hospital-based dermatology, the University Cancer Center, and Network hospitals.
