Our Rheumatology faculty members maintain active clinical, translational, epidemiology, and basic science research programs. Clinical research includes treatment and prevention protocols and investigator-initiated, cooperative group, and industry trials.

Basic and Translational Research
Basic research is supported by the laboratory facilities and faculty of the Immunobiology Program.
Our basic research lab, the Dr. Ralph Budd lab, focuses on death receptors, caspase regulation, and gamma delta T cell function in infection and autoimmunity.
Clinical Research
Clinical research is ongoing on Rheumatoid Arthritis treatments and bone density analysis, collaborating with Orthopedics, Oncology, Physiology, and Immunobiology to explore new biologic agents and the epidemiology of Osteoporosis and Arthritis.
Clinical Research Areas
