Message from the Division Chief

Dermatology has broad expertise in medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and pathology realms. Our faculty is regionally and nationally renowned for their academic excellence and devotion to patient care.

We care for almost 40,000 patients annually, drawing from a large regional base that encompasses most of Vermont and much of Northern New York.  The division is well-known for its close-knit dermatology residency program, as well as fellowships in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatopathology.  Additionally, we have the privilege of lecturing, mentoring, and hosting students for clerkships from the Larner college of Medicine, as well as visiting medical students from across the country.  At the start of the second year of medical school, we introduce students to our field with a series of lectures and small group sessions focusing on the unique terminology of our discipline, physical examination of the skin, and the clinical and microscopic findings of various cutaneous diseases.
