Yahoo News amplified a story originally published in the (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) Press-Republican about six new specialty care providers, in several health specialties, who have joined the University of Vermont Health Network. By the end of September, 90 new physicians and 57 advanced practice providers will be practicing in the region.
“Ensuring access to high quality, essential health care close to home is the driving force behind the system-wide recruitment effort,” said Ramsey Herrington, M.D., UVM Health Network executive vice president for clinical affairs and Larner associate professor and chair of emergency medicine.
The new doctors, who also hold positions in the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, include Anusha Devarajan, M.B.B.S., assistant professor of medicine, pulmonology; Amr Essa, M.B., B.Ch., assistant professor of medicine, cardiology; Amine Nasri, M.D., cardiology; Joseph Pierson, M.D., professor of medicine, dermatology; and Alexander Plochocki, M.D., M.P.H., assistant professor of surgery, urology.
