Frances Carr, Ph.D., has received a prestigious Discovery Boost Grant from the American Cancer Society, along with co-investigator Seth Frietze, Ph.D.

Dr. Carr is a professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the UVM Larner College of Medicine; Dr. Frietze is the Dr. Ronald W. Pero International Research Green and Gold Professor and a professor of medical laboratory science in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Both are members of the University of Vermont Cancer Center’s Cancer Cell research program.

The Discovery Boost Grant is a two-year award that supports high-risk, high-reward research designed to spark innovation and open new avenues in cancer treatment.
