Dozens of future doctors in Burlington learned where they will spend the next part of their careers on Friday, March 20, as the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine took part in the annual tradition of Match Day, NBC5 reported.
Match Day is a nationwide event that happens every year on the third Friday in March. On that day, doctors in training learn where they will spend the next three to seven years in residency.
At UVM Medical Center, 118 students celebrated the occasion with a joyous, Western-themed event surrounded by loved ones.
This year, Larner College of Medicine students matched into 18 specialties at programs across the country.
