Guideline-concordant thromboprophylaxis significantly reduces both venous thromboembolism (VTE) and death in patients at high risk for blood clots, data from a multidisciplinary VTE prevention program instituted at the University of Vermont showed.
“By adhering to the guidance, we’re improving patient outcomes,” hematologist Karlyn A. Martin, M.D., M.S., associate professor of medicine at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, told Healio. “People should see if they can translate the guidelines into their clinical practice, as well.”
