UVM Health’s board of trustees announced that current UVM Medical Center President and CEO Stephen Leffler, M.D.’90, professor of emergency medicine at the Larner College of Medicine, will be the new interim CEO of UVM Health beginning October 15, after Dr. Sunny Eappen steps down.
UVM Health said the leadership change is part of an evolution in how they provide health care. They said more work needed to be done to become “more closely connected to the communities we serve, and better aligned with the system’s anchor academic medical center.”
