JAMA Surgery: Enhanced Visualization and Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (JUL 22, 2026)
Stefanie Lazow, M.D., assistant professor of surgery, and Anthony Charles, M.D., M.P.H., professor of surgery at the Larner College of Medicine, published an invited commentary in JAMA surgery on enhanced visualization and laparoscopic cholecystectomy cautioning that intraoperative ICG—indocyanine green cholangiography, a less invasive adjunct for biliary visualization—should remain an adjunct to surgical judgment and intraoperative cholangiography.
