NBC5 featured the Larner College of Medicine’s White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2029 as more than 100 medical students from 22 states donned their iconic physician’s coats for the first time. The ceremony officially brings students into the medical profession and emphasizes the responsibility they take on as doctors.

“It means a lot. Our first step to becoming a doctor, in a way, it symbolizes a lot of things,” said Meelad Karami, a white coat recipient. “The beginning of our journey. There was definitely a lot of pre-work leading up to here. This is the major first step of really becoming a doctor and that’s really exciting for all of us.”
