Some may say there’s a certain pressure to live up to a parent’s legacy, particularly if you’re in the same field and graduated from the same medical school. In the case of Larner medical researcher Vinh Le, M.D.’25, and Larner alum Phil Le, M.D.’90, current site director of the family medicine residency program at the Coatesville VA Medical Center in Pennsylvania, their relationship of mutual respect and support has offered an opportunity for the father and son to discuss everything from clinical practice to navigating life changes.
Vinh reflects, “Hearing all the wonderful stories from my dad about the Larner community made me very inclined to apply there and consider it a top choice for medical school. That was undoubtedly the right decision.”
