Cancer Therapy Advisor highlighted findings by researchers at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine showing that cancer survivors living outside of metropolitan areas are significantly more likely to experience chronic pain than urban survivors. The study, led by family medicine post-doc Hyojin Choi, Ph.D., was published in JAMA Network Open. Co-authors were Emily Hallgren, Ph.D., assistant professor of medicine; Maija Reblin, Ph.D., associate professor of family medicine; Kate Tracy, Ph.D., professor of medicine and senior associate dean for research at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine and director of research for UVM Health; and Erika Ziller, Ph.D., associate professor of medicine.
