Science: Mammals produce cyclo-octasulfur to suppress lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis (SEP 24, 2026)

A new, $19 million, five-year National Science Foundation project to build a National Connectomics and Ultrastructure Volume Observatory to investigate some of life’s smallest structures in three dimensions will be co-led by Larner neuroscientist Davi Bock, Ph.D., Doug Taatjes, Ph.D., of UVM’s Microscopy Imaging Center, and Mark Ellisman, Ph.D., of the University of California–San Diego.
