Nicholas Aunchman, M.D.’11, associate professor or emergency medicine, was quoted by the (Plattsburgh, N.Y.) Press-Republican in a story picked up by Yahoo News about the University of Vermont Health–Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital’s reaccreditation as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department. This means the hospital has again met the highest national standards established by the American College of Emergency Physicians for the care of adults ages 65 and older.
“Emergency care for older adults requires more than excellent clinical skills. It requires collaboration, coordination, and compassion,” Dr. Aunchman said in a press release. “Our providers are committed to delivering respectful, well-coordinated care that supports patients and their caregivers during some of life’s most stressful moments.”
