This is the primary teaching hospital of The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. It is an ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center for adult and Level 2 Trauma Center for pediatric patients and is a major tertiary referral center for the state of Vermont and upstate New York. With an annual census of 62,000 patients with very high acuity, the emergency department is known for quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty.
