The UVM Medical Center provides a world-class academic home for our residency training program. Our academic core faculty are nationally awarded teachers, expert clinicians, and have diverse research interests across more than 14 subspecialities within emergency medicine.  The medical center serves a catchment area of thousands of square miles and is the referral center for nine regional hospitals, and our residents are at the forefront of caring for our region's most seriously ill and injured individuals.

At the UVM Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine, you will gain the skills and confidence to provide care in challenging, resource-limited settings through our wilderness, rural, and global health programs. Over 90% of our core teaching faculty will work alongside you at our community and rural hospitals, ensuring that you learn to master decision making in resource-limited settings with confidence.  You will receive comprehensive support while facilitating patient transfers, independently executing lifesaving interventions, and acquiring competencies that will prepare you to practice internationally.
