Tim Whitman is an Associate Professor of Medicine. He obtained his D.O.from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury NY. He went on to a transitional internship at the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) in Bethesda MD, was a general medical officer at Camp Lejeune, NC with a Marine artillery unit prior to returning to Bethesda MD to complete internal medicine residency at NNMC. He completed his infectious diseases fellowship at the combined Walter Reed Army Medical Center/NNMC program. He served 21 years in the Navy as an infectious diseases physician prior to joining the faculty at UVM in 2018. His research interests include MRSA skin and soft tissue prevention and he serves as the network QI lead for the ID division.
