BIO
Dr. Sherrie Khadanga is an Associate Professor of Medicine (tenure) and a non-invasive cardiologist, serving as the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at UVMMC and recently appointed the Philip A Ades Endowed Professorship of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention. As an NIH funded research investigator, her interest in preventative health has led her to focus on cardiac rehabilitation (CR) which plays a key role in prevention of recurrent coronary events. While CR has been shown to improve mortality, unfortunately it is quite underutilized among women and this has become a special interest of hers. As a clinician scientist, she aims to find ways to improve participation, adherence in cardiac rehabilitation. She has played an active role in changing the field, having contributed as an author on multiple scientific statements published in Circulation by the American Heart Association as well as running clinical trials, one of which was published in JAMA Cardiology.
