Dr. Pooria Khoshnoodi is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and serves as a dermatopathologist and soft tissue and bone pathologist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Khoshnoodi serves on multiple departmental committees, including the Resident Education Committee, Dermatopathology Competency Committee, Anatomic Pathology Curriculum Committee, and represents his divisions at multidisciplinary sarcoma and cutaneous tumor conferences. His clinical and academic interests focus on dermatopathology, bone and soft tissue pathology, and diagnostic correlation using histopathologic, immunohistochemical, and molecular techniques. Dr. Khoshnoodi is actively engaged in the education of medical students, pathology residents, dermatology residents, and fellows through sign-out teaching, didactic lectures, and multidisciplinary case-based instruction.
Dr. Khoshnoodi is nationally recognized for his scholarly contributions in dermatopathology and bone and soft tissue pathology, with a particular emphasis on clinicopathologic and molecular characterization of neoplastic entities. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading pathology and subspecialty journals, focusing on cutaneous tumors, sarcomas, bone pathology, and diagnostically challenging entities. His work has been presented at national and international meetings, including the American Society of Dermatopathology, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, College of American Pathologists, and Radiological Society of North America. A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Khoshnoodi regularly provides didactic and case-based teaching to pathology residents, dermatology residents, and fellows, and has served in mentoring roles within residency education. His service to pathology and patient care is further demonstrated through active participation in multidisciplinary tumor conferences and departmental educational committees.
