Received Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, studied human skin epithelial differentiation. Postdoctoral research, worked with Dr. Paula Fives-Taylor and Dr. Keith Mintz at UVM, investigating the invasion of the periodontal bacterium Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans into epithelial cells. Worked at UVM Bioinformatics Shared Resource with Dr. Jeff Bond and Dr. Julie Dragon. Joined UVM faculty in 2022.
