BIO
As Communications Coordinator for the Larner College of Medicine’s Office of Medical Communications, Lucy supports day-to-day office operations including providing administrative assistance for college events and communications and for the MedComms team in general, coordinating meeting logistics and managing calendars, gathering and preparing text and images for publication projects in print and online, and monitoring and publicizing media coverage of Larner-related people and activities. Every aspect of Lucy's role has the function of uplifting and promoting the accomplishments of the Larner College of Medicine and its students, faculty, and staff—which is easy to do because there are so many interesting and important things happening here.
One of the things Lucy loves about this job—besides her incredibly smart and fun coworkers!—is the variety: Sometimes it’s nose to the grindstone concentrating on proofreading 124 names and hometowns and residency programs and awards for an event; other times it’s escorting Dr. Moo through the halls making sure their head doesn’t bump on the top of the doorway; and most energizing of all is meeting and mingling with the medical students at their first Larner Orientation, and then four years later at Match Day.
After many years of in-house and freelance work in publications for various publishers and individuals across the Northeast, nothing gives Lucy greater joy than to come home to Vermont and use her skills and experience in service to a mission that brings so much good to so many people.
