BIO

Jose Manuel Gutierrez Amezcua, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Vermont. He is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with subspecialty training in Oncologic Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology, including expertise in ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration. His clinical and research interests focus on neoplastic and non-neoplastic thoracic pathology, as well as the application of molecular techniques in cytopathology. 

Dr. Gutierrez Amezcua’s scholarly work has been presented at national conferences and has received recognition, including finalist honors for the Society for Cardiovascular Pathology’s Young Investigator Award. Dr. Gutierrez Amezcua is deeply committed to medical education and is actively involved in teaching pathology residents and medical students. His dedication to education has been recognized with teaching awards, including the Excellence Award for Outstanding Service as Pathology Chief Resident.

In his current role, Dr. Gutierrez Amezcua is committed to providing world-class patient care by carefully analyzing cells and tissues to deliver accurate diagnoses, enabling optimal treatment in close coordination with surgeons and clinicians.

Jose Manuel Gutierrez Amezcua, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Vermont.
