Jeffrey Stump, M.D. is a Community Practice Pathologist at Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) and the CLIA Medical Director of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH). He is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and completed a combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he also completed fellowships in Surgical Pathology and Genitourinary Pathology.
As a Community Practice Pathologist, Dr. Stump prioritizes providing exemplary clinical service to his patients and pathology colleagues and offers expertise in genitourinary pathology. He also serves as the CLIA Medical Director of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) where he ensures regulatory accreditation standards are met and collaborates with laboratory and hospital staff to deliver effective laboratory services. At CVMC and BMH, Dr. Stump fosters a collegial environment focused on high-quality and efficient diagnostic services, interdisciplinary collaboration, clear communication, and maintaining strong, enduring relationships with surgeons and clinicians. In addition to his daily clinical service work, Dr. Stump contributes to the department’s educational mission by frequently volunteering in various medical student histology and gross lab courses at LCOM, combining his general pathology knowledge and aptitude for medical education. He also serves as the lead lecturer for a genitourinary pathology session within the Human Development and Reproductive Health block in LCOM. Dr. Stump also teaches pathology residents rotating at CVMC and shows them the community practice side of pathology and what it has to offer.
Dr. Stump is a dedicated physician committed to patient care, his colleagues, and medical education. Inspired to do more for his patients, he continually seeks ways to improve his practice by remaining up to date and through meaningful collaboration with his pathology colleagues at CVMC and the University of Vermont Medical Center. Dr. Stump thoroughly enjoys using his skill set in pathology to benefit his community and is grateful to be able to do so.
