BIO

Jason Brazelton, M.D. is Community Practice Pathologist within the UVM Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and a Clinical Practice Physician within the Larner College of Medicine.  Dr. Brazelton serves as Division Chief of Community Practice Pathology - Vermont, CLIA Medical Director of the UVM Health – Central Vermont Medical Center Laboratory, Interim CLIA Medical Director of the UVM Health – Porter Medical Center Laboratory, and as a member of the UVM Health Medical Group Nominating and Governance Committee.  He is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology.  

As a Community Practice Pathologist, Dr. Brazelton enjoys providing coverage of anatomic and clinical pathology services at multiple hospitals, providing laboratory medical directorship services, and teaching residents that rotate through the UVM Health Community Pathology elective.  He also serves the College of American Pathologists as the State Assigning Commissioner for Vermont, New Hampshire, and Western Massachusetts.  Dr. Brazelton was recognized by his medical colleagues in Vermont in 2022 by being awarded the Physician of the Year Award from the Vermont Medical Society.  

Dr. Brazelton is committed to advancing pathology services for patients in our region.  He appreciates the opportunity to practice as a generalist in both anatomic and clinical pathology within UVM Health, as well as the opportunity to work with regional hospitals across Vermont and New Hampshire serving patients and providing access to high-quality pathology and laboratory services.
