BIO

Dr. Jacqueline Poston specializes in hematology and transfusion medicine. She is an assistant professor at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, with dual appointments in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and the Department of Medicine. Dr. Poston cares for patients with non malignant hematologic disorders and myeloproliferative neoplasms at the University of Vermont Hematology Clinic. As Medical Director of the Blood Bank, she oversees the safety and effectiveness of blood transfusion practices at the University of Vermont Medical Center.


Her research focuses on bleeding disorders and on the intersection between the immune system and hematologic disease, with a particular interest in acquired hemophilia A. Dr. Poston completed medical school and internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She then completed hematology/oncology fellowship training at the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, followed by specialized fellowships in transfusion medicine and in bleeding disorders and coagulation at the University of Washington and BloodworksNW.
