BIO
Dr. Harold Dauerman received his Bachelor of Science from Yale University and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He subsequently trained in internal medicine, general and interventional cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital. Prior to joining the University of Vermont, Dr Dauerman served as Director, Interventional Cardiology at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. At UVM, he has served in multiple leadership roles including Director, Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratories, Director of Cardiovascular Services and currently as Network Director, Interventional Cardiology. He is a tenured Professor in the Department of Medicine and currently serves as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs overseeing the UVM Network Department of Medicine integrated clinical operations at 1 academic medical center and 5 community hospitals in Vermont and New York State. Dr. Dauerman has been involved in quality improvement initiatives, program development and care of high risk patients. This includes development of a region wide STEMI program, a comprehensive structural heart program and advising the national STEMI improvement initiative, Mission Lifeline. Dr. Dauerman planned the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions as prior Chair, Clinical Cardiology Council programming. Dr. Dauerman has served in multiple editor roles including Editor in Chief (Coronary Artery Disease), Senior Guest Editor (Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions) and Executive Editor (Journal of the American College of Cardiology). Dr. Dauerman has served as a clinical and research mentor for many UVM Cardiology graduates and has held national leadership roles in multicenter registries and clinical trials across a broad spectrum of interventional cardiology research areas.
