BIO

David Coggin-Carr is a UK+US dual-certified obstetrician, Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialist and early career physician-scientist with additional training/expertise in Integrative Medicine and Western medical acupuncture. His research interests include the evidence-based integration of acupuncture and related techniques into conventional obstetric/midwifery care, as well as the exploration of novel applications in high-risk pregnancies. His lab is currently investigating the efficacy, safety and mechanisms of action of electroacupuncture in a diet-induced rat model of maternal obesity characterized by uteroplacental fetal growth restriction.
