BIO
Dr. Fitzgerald’s initial reason for becoming a doctor was to use her education in a way that felt meaningful and consequential. Now that she is in this role, she finds that her ability to be involved in her patients' care and impact their lives daily is more rewarding than she ever imagined.
A prior mentor once emphasized the concept of treating every patient as if they were her family member — a concept that has stayed with her throughout her training and continues to guide her approach to care.
She tries to see each situation from her patient's perspective, listening closely to their concerns, and addressing not only their medical needs, but also their fears and emotions.
While her specialty is nephrology, she takes a holistic view of her patients' health. She values the opportunity to connect with them as individuals and to support their overall personal and medical well-being.
