Areas of expertise

Academic - vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels), anti-synthetase syndrome (a rare inflammatory muscle disease), non-infectious uveitis (inflammation of the eyes), systemic autoimmune conditions, common rheumatologic disorders such as gout and rheumatoid arthritis.

Research - venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) in granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), which is small vessel vasculitis where small vessels become inflamed.

Dr. Nevares enjoys establishing diagnosis and treatment for her patients, caring for them and impacting their lives in a positive way. She likes to promote health rather than to just treat an illness.

Her philosophy is to treat patients as individuals with an organic and spiritual dimension. She likes to feel that she’s made her best effort to answer her patients' questions and ensure that their concerns have been addressed when they leave.
