Dear UVM Retiree,
Human Resources has received many inquiries about open enrollment. As we initially planned to be sharing updates with you mid-September, I want to apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. We understand how important these details are for your planning, and we want to reassure you that the full open enrollment announcement will be sent both by email and postal mail on Friday, October 3. This communication will introduce UVM’s new Medicare Marketplace partner and outline next steps to enroll in medical coverage for 2026.
In the meantime, we would like to share important dates and information with you so that you can begin to prepare:
Open Enrollment Periods
- Retirees currently enrolled with Vermont Blue Advantage, who are losing group coverage effective 12/31/2025: Open enrollment runs from October 1 – December 31, 2025.
- Retirees not currently enrolled with Vermont Blue Advantage: Open enrollment runs from October 15 – December 7, 2025.
Medicare Marketplace Education Sessions
To support you through this transition and answer your questions, UVM will host both in-person and virtual educational sessions. These sessions will provide an overview of the Medicare Marketplace and guidance on how to enroll. No RSVP is required for the in-person or virtual educational sessions.
