As we wrap up a busy 2022, Human Resource Services (HRS) would like to remind faculty and staff about upcoming administrative closure dates, Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Affirmative Action compliance requests, and the 2022 performance review process.

2022 Performance Reviews
The PeopleAdmin performance review portal will be open January 3 through March 31, 2023. The University asks all supervisors to complete the performance review process for each of their staff prior to the March 31st deadline. The evaluations to complete will measure employee performance for the previous calendar year (Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022). These assessments are important for continuous improvement on the part of employees and the University at large.

Details related to performance reviews overall purpose, processes, and timelines for each staff employee group on our campus are described in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements or handbook. All are encouraged to review these Handbooks and Collective Bargaining Agreements. Guidance for supervisors will be coming in the coming weeks. Questions related to the performance reviews can be directed to Labor and Employee Relations.

Administrative Closures
Administrative closures for the end of the year are fast approaching. Administrative offices, including Human Resource Services, will be closed from Friday, December 23 through Monday, January 2, 2023. A complete list of annual administrative closures is posted online, including 2023 closure dates.

Affordable Care Act (ACA) Information Review & Update
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires employers to request employees to verify or submit the social security numbers for medical dependents at least once a year. Employees may sign into PeopleSoft Self-Service to verify or submit social security numbers for medical dependents. Please see the PeopleSoft Self-Service How to Guide for step-by-step instructions on how to review and update your personal and dependent information. While ACA requires employers to send out a notice requesting employees to verify or submit dependent social security numbers, it does not require employees to make these updates. If you have questions about how to make these updates, contact us at HRSinfo@uvm.edu.

Affirmative Action Plan Information Review & Update
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) requires that the University identify the number of faculty and staff employed at UVM with disabilities, and/or who are protected veterans. To meet our affirmative action requirements, we are required to request this data with respect to current employees every five years; though your participation is voluntary. Please take a few moments to update this information by going into the Open Enrollment button in PeopleSoft. Any information you provide is confidential, and information about your disability status will not be visible to your supervisor.

Please note, employees are encouraged to look to Inside UVM for HRS communications. Contact Human Resource Services at 802-656-3150 or HRSinfo@uvm.edu for additional information on these topics and any HR-related questions.

Thank you and Happy Holidays to all.
