Today marks the beginning of UVM’s annual Staff Appreciation Week. Each year the university sets time aside to recognize our incredible staff, their dedication, and contributions. UVM staff members play a crucial role in the institution’s success and status as a prominent leader in research, sustainability, and student success. You and your coworkers make UVM the vibrant, thriving community it is today. I hope you will take a moment to extend a personal thank you to the staff who have made an impact on your time at UVM.

I’m pleased to announce that thanks to the Staff Appreciation Week Committee and partnering units across campus, this year’s appreciation week offers more events and unique opportunities than ever before. Our longstanding Social on the Green Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM outside of the Davis Center at the Andrew Harris Commons. Along with a delicious lunch, there will be live music, lawn games, and raffle prizes. For the Social on the Green, we ask that, whenever possible, appropriate coverage be arranged so that all our staff members can be free to attend this lunch in their honor.

Along with the cornerstone luncheon event, other offerings include CatChat with Staff Council, a concert and comedy show performed by some of your coworkers, and multiple tours of campus spaces. Please visit the Staff Appreciation webpage to see a full offering of activities, events, and registration details where applicable.

On a personal note, as a UVM employee who just celebrated his first-year milestone at UVM, I am looking forward to attending appreciation events and meeting even more of the amazing individuals that comprise our stellar team. On behalf of all the senior leaders on campus, thank you for all you do at UVM.
