BIO

Jessica Ley Metcalf, PsyD, ACS (she/her) is a therapist, supervisor, and CAPS Training Manager. She is a Licensed Psychologist-Doctorate in Vermont and New Hampshire and is an Approved Clinical Supervisor. In addition to her focus on Training and Supervision, Jessica's professional interests include identity development and the impacts of culture and socialization, relationships (including mind-body and intrapersonal relationships), anxiety, and the role of nature, wilderness and outdoor experiences in personal growth and healing. Jessica has worked in a variety of Higher-Ed settings in New England and in the Pacific Northwest and was Director of the Counseling Center at Green Mountain College prior to joining CAPS. She has served on the Ethics Committee of the Vermont Psychological Association since 2012.Jessica’s approach reflects feminist and liberation-based ways of conceptualizing functioning and wellbeing. She works from a mindfulness-based, client-centered relational and trauma-informed perspective with a focus on self compassion and draws from a variety of interventions including cognitive behavioral and somatic approaches.When not at CAPS Jessica enjoys being outdoors from backpacking and splitboard touring to car camping and cruising the rail trails in Vermont and New York. She also loves seeing live music, rescuing plants, cooking and baking.
