What's a Fellowship?

If you are ready to take on the responsibility of your own pursuit of knowledge, pursuit of truth, and pursuit of adventure then there is a resource you can tap into that will help make your dreams a reality: a nationally competitive fellowship.

Nationally competitive fellowships, scholarships and grants will enrich your education and give you an opportunity to push your intellectual limits. Fellowships may provide funding for the last years of undergraduate education, for graduate education both in the US and abroad, or even for travel and independent research not tied to an academic institution.

A fellowship represents the educational opportunity of a lifetime. You, the student, are given the chance to take all the skill, wisdom, and intelligence you have acquired during your time on campus to pursue a project or an adventure that has always been of interest to you, but never feasible for you.

Sound like something you're interested in? The pages on the website describe fellowships that you might consider, describe the application process involved, and give advice to applicants. Listed below are the nationally competitive fellowships, scholarships and grants offered at UVM that require a university endorsement. Read a list of some of the nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships that students have applied for in previous years.
