Research mentorship at UVM is an integral part of the student research experience

Training future creators, scholars, and innovators

Providing mentorship to undergraduate researchers can be a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Positive mentorship can instill growth, curiosity, and confidence in students across their academic achievements and beyond. Positive mentorship can benefit the mentor as well by enhancing research productivity, fostering collaborations, and engaging with hands-on learning and teaching in your field.

Undergraduate Research Funding

Student Research Conference (SRC)

The Student Research Conference is an annual event that occurs each spring on campus. Students across all academic disciplines and levels are encouraged to participate and we welcome faculty to propose special topics/sessions within their academic specialities. If you would like to propose a session, please contact FOUR at four@uvm.edu.

Involving your class(es) in the SRC

Classes at the 200-level are allowed to present their work at the SRC. There are two ways classes can present their work:
  • Individual Presentations: The faculty member must provide the SRC coordinator with a roster prior to registration. Individual students are treated much like general presenters. Individual presentations will be grouped under the same special session/special topic title (to distinguish the class). The instructing professor will be the "faculty sponsor" on each presentation.
  • Group Presentations: One presenter from each group will register with the necessary information for co-presenters. The faculty member must provide the SRC coordinator with a roster prior to registration. Individual students are treated much like general presenters. The instructing professor will be the "faculty sponsor" on each presentation.
