August is National Emergency Management Awareness Month, a time to recognize the important work of building safer, more resilient communities.

National Emergency Management Awareness Month reminds us that preparedness is a shared responsibility. On college campuses, emergency management professionals work behind the scenes every day to strengthen resilience, coordinate planning, and help protect students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As UVM celebrates this month, we're also excited about the launch of our new Emergency Management minor, creating new opportunities for students interested in careers focused on preparedness, response, recovery, and community resilience.
