Tenured/Tenure-Track (T/TT) faculty include Academic Administrators with Faculty Appointments. T/TT faculty are generally hired through an external recruitment or search process, but there are situations when a search is not conducted and a NTT Faculty member transitions to a TT position (refer to your unit’s guidelines). The spouse, civil union partner, or individual in comparable status (“SCUP”) of a candidate in the external recruitment of a tenure-track faculty member or senior-level administrator (Dean, Vice President, Provost, President) may be eligible for consideration for a UVM appointment under these Guidelines. No candidate should be asked if they have a SCUP during any stage of the recruitment process. Candidates may initiate the conversation if it is germane to their consideration of UVM’s offer of employment.
