BIO
Jean Pelski, Ph.D., APRN, NNP-BC, is a clinical professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She is an experienced nurse educator and neonatal nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of advanced practice experience in neonatal intensive care.
Dr. Pelski’s academic work centers on graduate nursing education, curriculum development, and the preparation of advanced practice nurses and DNP-prepared nurse leaders. She mentors doctoral students across the development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of scholarly projects focused on improving practice and health care outcomes.
A significant focus of her work is strengthening academic-practice partnerships and creating opportunities for graduate nursing students to address priorities identified by health care and community partners. She serves as the UVM Nursing faculty liaison to the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP), supporting collaboration across nursing education, clinical practice, quality improvement, and population health.
Dr. Pelski completed the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) Leadership Mentoring Program and is actively engaged in university, college, and professional service, including graduate education, curriculum development, faculty governance, and advanced practice nursing education.
She also holds longstanding clinical faculty appointments with Tufts University School of Medicine and UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate, contributing to interprofessional education and the preparation of health care professionals.
