BIO
Dr. Adams brings more than 25 years of experience in higher education across teaching, clinical education, scholarship, and academic leadership in the health sciences. She is recognized for her commitment to student learning, high-impact teaching practices, and clinical education and has mentored students through graduate audiology practica, undergraduate clinical internships, and interprofessional education initiatives. Her scholarship explores how leadership and institutional policy shape the experiences of non-tenure-track faculty in higher education, particularly clinical faculty, women, and faculty of color, with a focus on the role of mentoring in academic career development and self-efficacy. Her service includes leadership roles on departmental, college, and university committees, including United Academics and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Curriculum Planning Committee, which she has chaired since 2014. She has also served on the Vermont Secretary of State Hearing Aid Advisory Board, held leadership positions in the Vermont Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and contributed to continuing education through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
A nationally certified and Vermont-licensed audiologist, Dr. Adams holds specialty practice certifications in audiology precepting and tinnitus management. Her clinical interests include age-related hearing loss and the preparation and support of future health professionals.
