BIO
Jaime joined the University of Vermont in 2023. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree and began her teaching career as a lecturer at Rutgers–Newark University. Through the NJ-STEP program, she also taught college-level writing at Northern State Prison. Prior to UVM, Jaime served as an assistant professor of Creative Writing and brings more than fifteen years of experience teaching writing across diverse disciplines. Her work is grounded in a commitment to health and social justice, and she views writing as a vital tool for bringing visibility to the public health challenges faced by marginalized and structurally oppressed communities.

Awards and Achievements
Her work has been nominated for numerous Pushcart Prizes, and she has been awarded fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, the Corporation of Yaddo, and the Millay Colony. Jaime’s fiction and nonfiction have appeared in GRANTA (New Voices), Adirondack Review, Storyglossia, PopMatters, Identity Theory, and Etude Magazine, among others. She is represented by PJ Mark of Janklow & Nesbit, NYC.
