The Department of Biomedical and Health Sciences is preparing the next generation of experts who will advance and safeguard the health of individuals and communities through our programs in Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, Medical Radiation Sciences, and Public Health Sciences.

Our programs provide hands-on clinical practice, internships, fieldwork, and research opportunities in collaboration with expert faculty. Emphasizing practical application, we prepare our students to thrive in professional environments.

Biomedical and Clinical Sciences

Students can choose to specialize in medical laboratory science, public health laboratory science, or applied biomedical science. Through immersive practicums with leading regional affiliates, researchers, or industry partners, they gain unparalleled real-world experience.

Students gain hands-on practice in radiation safety, patient care, and cancer treatment using the Virtual Environment Radiotherapy Trainer, and develop clinical expertise through real-world experience at UVM Medical Center.
