Founded in 1971 to meet the growing need to train scientists in the latest research techniques in a multidisciplinary setting, the CMB doctoral program is structured with faculty from 17 departments and 4 colleges who provide active mentorship and scientific excellence to their trainees.
The central theme of the CMB program is to provide a rich scientific learning experience at the forefront of modern biology focusing on collaboration among researchers across The University of Vermont campus, and beyond. The CMB curriculum is designed to provide core knowledge for a diverse array of research areas that can be tailored to the student according to his or her interests. In this way we provide the best possible training to prepare doctoral students to succeed as scientists. We also encourage students to attend offsite training to broaden their academic and research knowledge.
