BIO

Eric is an Associate Director of Student Services and Retention in the College of Education and Social Services (CESS). He serves as the Academic Advisor for first year students in the Elementary Education, Middle Level Education, and Secondary Education. He also provides department leadership in student recruitment, student retention, and student services assessment.

Early in his career, Eric taught multilanguage learners in Japan, Greece, and the United States. After transitioning into student affairs, he developed and oversaw student services at liberal arts colleges abroad and at home. He then returned to teaching as an Elementary Educator in New Hampshire and Vermont. His dual career pathway has prepared him well for the wide range of responsibilities in his current position.

Eric is currently active in NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. He serves as Vermont State Liaison and Region I Mentor. He has presented workshops at the regional and annual conferences. Finally, Eric has submitted a number of publications to Academic Advising Today which presents ideas related to the theory and practice of academic advising in higher education.
