BIO
Eric Braun, Ed.D., is an Associate Director of Student Services in the College of Education and Social Services. He serves as the Academic Advisor for new students in Elementary Education. He provides department leadership in student assessment, recruitment, retention, and awards. Finally, Eric has Dean's Office oversight for the College's undergraduate schedule of courses.
Early in his career, Eric was an English Language Instructor in Japan, Greece and the United States. After transitioning into student affairs, he served as a Director of Residence Life and Dean of Students at several liberal arts colleges at home and abroad.
Eric returned to the classroom as an Elementary Education Teacher in both New Hampshire and Vermont. For nearly a decade, he taught in rural school district classrooms grades 2, 3/4, and 4/5. His dual-career pathway has prepared him well for the wide range of duties in his current position.
Finally, Eric is active in NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. He is the Vermont State Liaison for Region I. Eric is also the Chair of the Education Majors Advising Community for NACADA. He has presented at regional and national conferences, and contributed the following articles to NACADA's Academic Advising Today:
