Under Hoza’s guidance, Henehan has developed a home-based intervention, Kiddie CATs at Home, which provides families with access to online exercise videos. Over the summer Henehan received a Seelig Family Summer Internship grant to support her independent research, which includes developing a set of videos that parents of children participating in the program can use at home. “That was really helpful to me—I was able to live in Burlington over the summer and focus on my research.” While working in Hoza’s lab this year, she’ll also be working on her senior honors thesis. Henehan’s twin minors in behavioral health change studies and gender, sexuality, and women's studies have helped reinforce her interests in nonprofit work, family psychology, developmental psychology, counseling, and the psychology of gender. “My end goal is to be a clinician, so I’m beginning to look at clinical PhD programs in psychology. I’d like to be in a clinical setting working with kids, and doing research too. I’m hoping that’s where the graduate journey takes me.”
