Professor (1998)

Professor Guber’s teaching and research interests include U.S. national elections and electoral behavior, public opinion, and environmental politics. Her work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as Public Opinion Quarterly, Environmental Politics, American Behavioral Scientist, Social Science Quarterly, Society & Natural Resources, and the Journal of Policy History. Her book, The Grassroots of a Green Revolution: Polling America on the Environment, was published by The MIT Press in 2003.

Her most recent publications focus on climate change and explore the consequences of party polarization, the relationship between elite opinion leaders and the masses, and the dynamics of public attention. 

In addition to her position in the Department of Political Science, she is an affiliate with the Gund Institute for Environment at the University of Vermont, and a member of the Climate Social Science Network (CSSN), headquartered at Brown University.
