As an intern in Governor Scott’s Constituent Services Office, I was tasked with responding to the concerns of Vermonters, conducting policy research, writing letters on behalf of the governor, and aiding several members of the administration’s senior staff. Working in this setting greatly expanded my knowledge of state governance, political writing, and pressing issues including COVID-19 response and affordable housing. Over the summer, I was able to build upon these skills in a greater capacity.  I used this time to delve further into policy research and initiate a few projects of my own. The greatest benefit of this internship was gaining invaluable experience in a state government setting.
