Program Overview
The linguistics minor provides grounding in the formal branches of the field and additional exposure to applications of linguistic knowledge mostly geared towards sociolinguistics, computational linguistics, and psycholinguistics. The minor requires an introductory course, two formal linguistic courses, and three additional courses at different levels to ensure ample exposure to the discipline. A linguistics minor is complementary to many related majors at UVM, including anthropology, psychological science, education degrees, and communication sciences and disorders, among others.
