Our Roots Run Deep
In the Department of Agriculture, Landscape, and Environment at the University of Vermont, we are passionate about the green world of agriculture and the environment. For over 60 years, our department has served locally, nationally and internationally, pursuing environmentally friendly methods to grow food, reduce pesticides, keep our water clean and preserve soils.
Students in the ALE Department flourish in our hands on, applied science undergradaute majors and graduate programs. Our goal is to help them apply their education and experiences to propel them into a rewarding career path that will last a lifetime.
